Profile
Full-stack engineer and project lead and now with AI, a Forward Deployed Engineer. Fifteen years building user-facing products in defense and space programs including NASA and U.S. Army. Software demonstrated every two weeks. I take products from command-line prototype to delivered application. Today, I build and deploy with AI coding agents daily — Claude Code and Devin push my changes to live production sites — which collapses the gap between a customer asking for something and using it.
Technical Skills
Professional Experience
Senior Full-Stack Engineer & Project Lead—Northrop Grumman
2023 – PresentU.S. Army programs · Mesa, AZ
- Embedded with the customer: run live demonstrations of working software for ranking U.S. Army officials, translating field feedback and mission constraints directly into the next sprint's backlog.
- Lead a four-engineer Agile team on a two-week sprint cadence — sprint planning, merge-request review, and delivery across both frontend and backend repositories — while remaining a hands-on contributor.
- Ship production TypeScript across React and Vue frontends and Express / MongoDB services, containerized with Docker and Podman.
- Deploy with AI agents in the loop: use Claude Code and Devin to prototype, review, and push changes to live sites, shortening the turnaround between a stakeholder request and a deployed fix.
- Own technical hiring for Tier 1 and Tier 2 engineering roles — screening, interviewing, and leveling candidates for the program.
Principal Frontend Engineer & Project Lead—Northrop Grumman
2019 – 2022NASA customer · James Webb Space Telescope
- Took a “Google Photos”-style media platform from command-line prototype to delivered product, customized around how the science team actually worked day to day.
- Indexed 12 TB of telescope imagery scattered across shared network drives and made it searchable and browsable from one application.
- Cut page load times across the asset browser with lazy loading, server-side pagination, and reduced response payloads.
- Demonstrated every deployment to the customer on a two-week cadence, converting live reactions into a prioritized delivery backlog.
- Owned frontend architecture end to end and set the patterns the rest of the team built against.
Frontend Engineer—Guaranteed Rate
2016 – 2019Mortgage origination platform
- Built internal loan-origination tooling used daily by 40 loan officers: underwriting, document attachments, conditions, closing, post-closing, and customized borrower email campaigns with loan calculations and multi-language support.
- Developed and maintained typed shared component libraries in TypeScript, adopted by multiple engineering teams across the organization.
Frontend Engineer—VER (Video Equipment Rentals) · American Apparel
2011 – 2016- Built internal web applications for equipment rental operations, and customer-facing web features for a national retail brand.
